It was the Columbia County Women's Association's honor to host LINDA SCHERZER is a former Mideast correspondent for CNN and Israel Television with extensive experience covering the Arab-Israel conflict who is currently the Director of Community Relations Committee Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ for an important conversation about the growing rise of antisemitism in America and how CCWA members can work together to combat hate.

 

CCWA presents: Our Annual Women Making a Difference Award and This Year’s Recipient, Jackie Salvatore

It was the Columbia County Women's Association's honor to announce and honor this year's recipient of our annual Women Making a Difference Award, Jackie Salvatore. This award is given to women in Columbia County who uphold the values of the CCWA through their interactions with family, loved ones, neighbors, communities and organizations.

Jacqueline Salvatore will become Columbia County UnderSheriff on January 1, 2022, becoming the first woman and person of color to hold this position.

 

CCWA presents: An Evening with Francis Greenburger in Conversation about his mother, Ingrid, and her work with the French Resistance

In honor of Women’s History Month, the CCWA honored Ingrid Gruttenfien Greenburger for her work fighting against Nazism in the French Resistance during WWII. The program featured her son, Francis J. Greenburger in conversation with CCWA Chair Cheryl Roberts.

CCWA Presents: In Conversation With Lacey Schwartz Delgado, Executive Producer of American Masters: How It Feels To Be Free.

On February 16th, Lacey Schwartz Delgado discussed her newest project, American Masters: How It Feels To Be Free with the Columbia County Women's Alliance. Moderated by Linda Mussman, Founder of Hudson’s Time & Space Limited, the talk also included a special welcome from Elena Mosley, Founder and Executive Director of Operation Unite New York and founding member of CCWA.

American Masters: How It Feels To Be Free tells the riveting story of how Lena Horne, Abbey Lincoln, Nina Simone, Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson, and Pam Grier challenged an entertainment industry deeply complicit in perpetuating racist stereotypes while transforming themselves and audiences in the process.
